Meet Our Crew
When you're trying to decide on your wedding entertainer, you should look for a few things:
- How long have they been DJ/MCing weddings? A great MC isn't going to be found at a bar or on a beach. Anyone can play music, but do they know how to handle a bridal party, do introductions, and coordinate with the other vendors for a seamless event? We at Act 1 have been in business for over 20 years with hundreds of weddings under our belt.
- Do they use contracts? Professionals ALWAYS use contracts to protect both themselves AND their clients. If you come across a vendor that doesn't use a contract, RUN!
- What kind of equipment do they use? We at Act 1 use only high-quality sound and lighting equipment. Our shows are designed to be elegant and functional without taking up a ton of space. This is especially important when your venue has a small dance floor or is trying to maximize the number of guests it can hold.
- Can you tailor the wedding to YOUR wants and needs? Some DJs have a "setlist" they use for weddings and you don't get a lot of input in it. We have both Do-Not-Play and Must-play lists for our couples and follow them to the letter.
- Are they a "Good fit"? After contacting the entertainer, are they personable, friendly, and outgoing, or do they sound like a used car salesman? Do they sound like they know what they're talking about?
- If it's a large company, do you get to pick your DJ, or are you just placed in a stack and THEY decide who they're going to send?
