About Our Crew

One of the factors that make a great entertainer is "life experience." Most people want to know that their MC (Master of Ceremonies) has been around the block and seen and experienced as many things as possible. It makes the DJ more worldly and able to relate to so many more things. No one on the Act 1 Entertainment staff has more life experience than Chuck Spencer. In his 4 years in the Marine Corps., Chuck has traveled all around the world serving our country admirably. He will always be one of the few, the proud, the Marines. As far as DJ experience, Chuck has been in the entertainment industry for over 27 years and has performed at over 2,000 events. Chuck is known for his attention to detail, and excellent speaking voice, along with hosting fun interactive games like Dinner Trivia, and being able to become a friend almost instantly to everyone that he meets. Having grown up with eclectic parents, Chuck has a knack for knowing what guests of every age want to hear. You'll find that by the time the last song is played, Chuck will feel more like one of the family than a hired vendor.
I was born in the middle of the best decade ever the 90s. I fell in love with music from the first moments I can remember. From pop, jazz, rock, hip hop, and rap to classic country and contemporary anything with a beat I could feel I wanted to hear. Boys and girls club dances introduced me to the idea of setting the vibe for whatever occasion we may be celebrating. When I met Chuck I was given the opportunity to start doing something I’m passionate about. Whether it’s a wedding, a graduation party, a prom, or a family night at an elementary school. I love being the person that helps set the vibe.
From a young age, music was more than just background noise—it was the pulse of life for me. Growing up, I found comfort in the rhythm of the world around me, captivated by the sounds that filled the air and the beats that seemed to align with the heartbeat of existence. Music was always a constant companion, but it was the power of rhythm that truly captured my imagination.
As a child, I would often lose myself in the music, whether it was blasting through the speakers at home, or overheard in the streets. The fascination with beats and rhythms became an obsession, leading to hours spent experimenting with different genres and listening to everything from classical to electronic dance music (EDM). As I grew older, that fascination transformed into a deep understanding of the art of mixing and creating. The sound became a language, and I wanted to speak it fluently.
I began learning the art of DJing and Mixing in my bedroom and slowly ventured out to the nightlife scene becoming fill-ins for a local resident DJ in Owosso. When he would perform and needed a break, he would pass the torch to me, and I would just let the crowd and environment take me to my “happy” place. Some of the songs that would play no one would think they would “flow”, yet I made it happen. When the Resident DJ would return, he would ask me to become his assistant, and he would “show me the ropes.” I was ecstatic, any one can be a DJ nowadays however being able to grab the crowd and fill that dance floor and maintain it, that takes someone who is comfortable meeting new people, and who is energetic to keep the people engaged.
With each performance, I continue to push boundaries, constantly evolving and learning from the masters who came before. From the early days of bedroom DJing to commanding the stage at major events, the journey has been one of passion, growth, and an unwavering love for the beats and rhythms that unite us all. And as I step up to the decks, there's no doubt that my journey is far from over, at least I hope not. The music is just beginning. Thank you for looking at me for your big day and hope I can be a part of it.
